Johnny Memphis

Johnny had been lost to the Tune Chic for almost 20 years when she found him in the witness protection program posing as a P.A. in Danbury, CT.   He plays many instruments, but, for the Tune Chic, he plays guitar and violin and sings harmony.  He is often accompanied by John E. Foote who plays the high hat.

Johnny's Bio

Johnny begged his parents to buy him his first guitar after hearing “Green Onions” by Booker T and the MG’s and after seeing Lt. Jacoby on the TV show “Peter Gunn” pick up and play a guitar.  The musical adventure thus begun led him to garage band/high school dances to soul music in raucous Madison, WI frat houses to swing music and commercials in CA to a road show R&B “jug band” out of Louisville to the Northeast and Ten Years Late/Nevard and the Barrelhouse Boys (the roots of the present Washboard Slim and the Bluelights”) to James Velvet and the Radiators to the Magnetics.  The Tune Chic rescued him from suburban semi-musical retirement.
